Softball Recap: Larue County Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Larue County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Grayson County Cougars by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 back in March.

Laura Austin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Phoenix Bell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

Larue County's record now sits at 20-6. As for Grayson County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Larue County is taking a road trip to square off against Adair County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Grayson County, they will be playing at home against Trinity at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
