Soccer Recap: West Geauga's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

West Geauga barely beat Orange the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines' defense stepped up to hand the Lions an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for West Geauga, who have now won six contests by four goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Orange from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Adison Cook led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The victory was the sixth in a row for West Geauga, bringing their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Orange, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Geauga will square off against Gilmour Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orange, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on John F. Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
