Baseball Recap: Trinity-Pawling School Find Success

Trinity-Pawling School's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Taft School Big Red by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 on April 7th.

Ty Petras spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. He is becoming a predictor of Trinity-Pawling School's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Patrick Leonard and Mikey Prince did most of the damage at the plate: Leonard went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Prince went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Prince a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvian Vazquez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Trinity-Pawling School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Trinity-Pawling School's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Taft School, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.
