Delphi Community is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Eastern is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Oracles will host the Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Delphi Community made easy work of North Newton and carried off a 16-4 victory. The Oracles have beaten the Spartans the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spartans has come to flipping the script.
Ryan Colella looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Brett Huffman was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Delphi Community's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-6 when he doesn't). Keigan Watts was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Delphi Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, while Eastern put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Blue River Valley. The Comets blew past the Vikings 12-0.
Eastern got a massive performance out of Perry Kochensparger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bently Hullinger, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Eastern's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Delphi Community, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Delphi Community has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eastern struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Delphi Community came out on top in a nail-biter against Eastern in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Oracles repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
