Baseball Game Preview: Tremont Eagles vs. Brilliant Tigers

The Tremont Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Brilliant Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Tremont is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Tremont made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mantachie, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 8-6 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since February 13th.

Nathan Crenshaw and Ryan Marks did some serious damage despite the final result: Crenshaw got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Marks went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Tremont is 5-1 when Crenshaw posts two or more runs, but 2-14 otherwise.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Brilliant challenged Hubbertville on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 20-2 to the Lions. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brilliant saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Yielding, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Tremont's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Brilliant, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Tremont suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Brilliant in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
