Recap: North Brunswick Scorpions vs. Person Rockets
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the North Brunswick Scorpions had no problem doing just that on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 28-27 victory over Person. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Brunswick.
North Brunswick can attribute much of their success to Tarron Green, who rushed for 20 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 191 yards and a touchdown while completing 72.2% of his passes. Chris Webb did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.
Person's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Daejon Hodge, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Hodge was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Jason Phillips was another key contributor, rushing for 40 yards and a touchdown.
North Brunswick pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Person, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
North Brunswick has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome J.H. Rose at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Person does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
