Softball Recap: Falkner Has No Trouble Against Ashland

Falkner never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Ashland Blue Devils as Falkner made off with a 19-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Taylor Garner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Mia McDaniel was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Caylee Washington was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Falkner kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Falkner's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Ashland, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falkner will venture away from home to face off against Biggersville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Biggersville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something Falkner will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ashland, they are taking a road trip to take on Byers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashland is facing Byers at the right time seeing as Byers is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
