Softball Recap: Berkeley Takes a Loss

Berkeley lost against Encinal back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Berkeley Yellowjackets fell just short of the Encinal Jets by a score of 5-4. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mia Kaufman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Camil Babij Ross was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Berkeley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Encinal, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berkeley will challenge Mt. Eden at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give Berkeley their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Encinal, they will square off against St. Helena at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Helena's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Encinal's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
