Baseball Recap: Southern Door Victorious

On Saturday Southern Door's undefeated season almost came to an end. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bonduel Bears 3-1. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 13-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Southern Door saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Neinas, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Neinas is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another was Jerek Valley, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Southern Door's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Bonduel, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Coming up, Southern Door is taking a road trip to square off against Reedsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bonduel, they will host Iola-Scandinavia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
