Basketball Recap: Stratton's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Stratton posted their biggest win since December 20, 2024 on Friday. They blew past the Kit Carson Wildcats 52-32. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-14.

Stratton was led to victory by Von Isenbart and Judson Isenbart. Von made all 6 shots he took to post 13 points and three blocks, while Judson went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Von a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Gavin Ruhs, who posted four points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Kit Carson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mason Marriott, who put up six points and six steals. Marriott is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Ferrales-Fierro, who scored nine points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Stratton, bringing their record for this year to 7-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Kit Carson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Stratton will face off against Deer Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stratton is facing Deer Trail at the right time seeing as Deer Trail is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Kit Carson has already played their next contest, a 48-38 defeat against Evangel Christian Academy on the 1st.
