Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hillsboro Christian Academy played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through an 85-20 loss at the hands of the CHESS Christian Royals. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-6.

Leland Chambliss was Hillsboro Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Jonah Brannon took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

CHESS Christian was led to victory by Chase Meester and Silas Kempe. Meester en route to 28 points and seven assists, while Kempe to rack up 21 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The contest was Meester's third in a row with at least 18 points. Josh Huff was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six steals and five boards.

Hillsboro Christian Academy dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for CHESS Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Hillsboro Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-45 loss against Adams County Christian on the 21st.
