The Highway 6 Trailblazers will take on the Fairbury Jeffs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Highway 6 is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Highway 6 and Southern Valley/Alma meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Trailblazers came out on top against Southern Valley/Alma by a score of 7-3.

Addisyn Norris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last eight games. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katherine Marshall, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stella Birkestrand, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Fairbury was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They came up short against Wilber-Clatonia, falling 11-1.
Highway 6 has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Fairbury, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
Fairbury's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Highway 6 has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. It's a different story for Fairbury, though, as they've only averaged .345. Will they be able to contain Highway 6's hitters?
Highway 6 suffered a grim 13-6 defeat to Fairbury in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Trailblazers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
