Basketball Recap: Compton Tarbabes vs. Millikan Rams
The Compton Tarbabes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 82-47 loss at the hands of Millikan. Compton has not had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Compton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jashon Finley. Despite the final result, he scored 35 points along with four steals. That was a full 74.5% of Compton's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dwayne Douglas, who scored six points.
Ryan Ocampo was a one-man wrecking crew for Millikan as he scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ocampo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Corlin Bryant, who scored nine points.
Compton has been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 19 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season. As for Millikan, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17.
Compton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Condors at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. California will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
