Football Recap: East Coweta Takes a Loss + How To Watch

East Coweta had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it five. They lost 42-17 to the Douglas County Tigers. The matchup marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Although East Coweta took the loss, they still got scores from Justin Brown and Sam Gritton.

As for Douglas County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Douglas County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from MIKE JOHNSON, who threw for 371 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Rah'Keith Kelly, who gained 160 total yards and two touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. East Coweta will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carrollton at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Douglas County, they will face off against Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.57 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
