Soccer Recap: Smithson Valley Takes a Loss

Smithson Valley lost against Pieper back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Smithson Valley Rangers lost 5-1 to the Pieper Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Warriors are ranked 75th).

Smithson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Pieper, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Coming up, Smithson Valley will welcome New Braunfels at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pieper, they will venture away from home to challenge Boerne-Champion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pieper is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.
