Baseball Recap: Gamble Montessori Comes Up Short

Gamble Montessori had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 0-3 to make it six. They came up short against the Clark Montessori Cougars, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Gators couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Clark Montessori, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

For Clark Montessori's part, Cian Wright and Jaxon Wilkerson made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Wright tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Wilkerson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Wright got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, while Wilkerson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tega Bakai, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Oliver Robinson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gamble Montessori will face off against Spencer Center at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Gamble Montessori is facing Spencer Center at the right time seeing as Spencer Center is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Clark Montessori, they will welcome Seven Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
