Softball Recap: Trinity Trojans vs. Crestwood Red Devils
Trinity is still looking for their season's first win. They lost 15-5 to the Crestwood Red Devils on Thursday. One positive for Trinity, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
For Crestwood's part, Bella Hunter and Amelia Gullatta made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Hunter pitched an inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Gullatta struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. At the plate, Hunter scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Gullatta scored a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Kaitlyn Huffman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and a stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Julian, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, a triple, and an RBI.
Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Crestwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.
