Basketball Recap: Bountiful Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Bountiful hadn't done well against Springville recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bountiful RedHawks snuck past the Springville Red Devils with a 91-85 victory. For the RedHawks, this counts as revenge for the 65-60 win the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2020.

Bountiful's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryson Heath led the charge by going 10 for 17 on his way to 28 points. Those 28 points gave Heath a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Smith, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Bountiful was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bountiful's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points per game. As for Springville, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bountiful will take on Skyridge in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bountiful's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Springville, they will welcome Provo at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
