Basketball Recap: Providence Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Providence Christian Academy and Calvary Day squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Providence Christian Academy had to settle for second. They came up short against the Calvary Day Cavaliers, falling 73-48.

Despite the loss, Providence Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Ella Truong, who posted 24 points and seven steals. Truong continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoie Cameron, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

Calvary Day had a senior duo take command as Destini Gooddine went 8-for-16 on her way to 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals and Zora Geiger shot 53% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The matchup was Gooddine's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Bre Jones, who put up ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Providence Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Calvary Day, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-9.

Providence Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calvary Day, they have already played their next game, an 86-48 defeat against St. Francis on the 25th.
