Basketball Game Preview: Carrollton Warriors vs. Minerva Lions

The Carrollton Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Minerva Lions at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Carrollton is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

On Tuesday, everything went Carrollton's way against Claymont as Carrollton made off with a 64-39 victory. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Mustangs are ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Minerva faced off against Canton South on Tuesday. Minerva walked away with a 47-37 win over Canton South. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Carrollton's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Minerva, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.

Carrollton came up short against Minerva in their previous matchup back in January, falling 45-38. Can Carrollton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
