Volleyball Recap: Covenant Day Extends Winning Streak to Three

After losing to Metrolina Christian Academy the last time they met, Covenant Day decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since April 13, 2024.

Covenant Day wouldn't go down easily and took Metrolina Christian Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a 13-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 16-25, 15-2.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Covenant Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Keefer, who had 43 assists and three digs. That's the most assists Keefer has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Duh Mang, who had 18 digs and two aces.

The victory (which was Covenant Day's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Covenant Day is set to face off against their familiar foe Weddington at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Metrolina Christian Academy will square off against rival Union Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
