Suggested Video

The Mesquite Skeeters will head out on the road to take on the Skyline Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Mesquite's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Cedar Hill hitters got past them. Mesquite had just enough and edged out Cedar Hill 12-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Skeeters considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Skyline, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Lancaster 6-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

HECTOR HERNANDEZ- RAMIREZ was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Manuel Del Toro also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Mesquite is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Skyline's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 7-10.

Mesquite took their win against Skyline when the teams last played back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 9-2. Will Mesquite repeat their success, or does Skyline has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
