Soccer Game Preview: Rockwood vs. Oneida

Rockwood hasn't had much luck against Oneida recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will head out to challenge the Indians at 6:30 p.m. Rockwood has given up an average of 4.1 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rockwood came up short against Roane County on Tuesday, falling 6-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oneida, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Oliver Springs an 8-0 shutout on Monday. The win continues a trend for Oneida in their matchups with Oliver Springs: they've now won nine in a row.

Oneida's offense was hitting Oliver Springs from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Riley Shoemaker led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Oneida's victory bumped their record up to 5-7-1. As for Rockwood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Rockwood might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Oneida in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 8-1.
