Recap: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Springville Red Devils

The Timpview Thunderbirds posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Springville 45-43. Given Timpview's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Springville is ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lina Ballin was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Aiaiaga Galea'i was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Millie Thompson, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Brynn Johnson, who scored ten points.

Timpview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Springville, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Maple Mountain the next time they take the court. Springville will head out to face Maple Mountain at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Timpview will host them at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
