Softball Recap: Dansville Finds Playoff Glory Versus Webberville

Dansville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Webberville Spartans by a score of 6-3 on Friday. The Aggies haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Laci Neal made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Katie Hamel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddi Carter, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Dansville's win bumped their record up to 24-10. As for Webberville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

As of now, neither Dansville nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
