Soccer Game Preview: Warhill vs. Gloucester

The Warhill Lions will square off against the Gloucester Dukes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warhill will be strutting in after a victory while Gloucester will be coming in after a defeat.

Warhill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Phoebus. Warhill might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Gloucester's good fortune finally ran out last Tuesday. They came up short against Woodside, falling 3-0. Gloucester fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Woodside since last Tuesday.

Warhill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five contests. As for Gloucester, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Warhill took their victory against Gloucester in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dukes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
