Basketball Recap: Water Canyon Takes a Loss

Water Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 60-50 to the Beaver Beavers. The Wildcats were down 54-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Water Canyon still got an impressive performance from Dynonte Blackmore, who went 6 for 15 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. That was a full 38% of Water Canyon's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Tucker Averrett was another key player, putting up nine points.

Water Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Beaver, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Water Canyon will head out on the road to take on Parowan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Beaver, they will be playing at home against Kanab at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kanab is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.
