Marlington won the last time they faced Perry and things went their way on Monday too. The Dukes didn't even let the Panthers on the board, marking the Dukes' second-straight 3-0 shutout. The Dukes are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 15 straight.

Marlington never let Perry on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-16, 25-16.

Danica Sarchione paced Marlington's offense, picking up 17 kills. Sarchione got some help from Cali Young and her 34 assists. Sarchione also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Reese Hagan, each putting up three.

Marlington's record is now 16-2. As for Perry, with the loss, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 9-7.

Marlington and Perry should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Dukes (ranked 82nd) will meet Fairless (ranked 307th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Perry will face off against GlenOak at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (151 vs. 316).
