Basketball Game Preview: Master's Academy Patriots vs. St. Edward's Pirates

Master's Academy hasn't had much luck against St. Edward recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Master's Academy Patriots will challenge the St. Edward's Pirates. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Master's Academy lost to Boca Raton Christian on the road by a 72-56 margin. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly 16 points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 89-55, which was the final score in St. Edward's tilt against Tradition Prep on Friday. While losing is never fun, St. Edward's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 536th, while Tradition Prep is ranked 256th).

This is the second loss in a row for Master's Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-20. As for St. Edward's, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Master's Academy ended up a good deal behind St. Edward's in their previous matchup on Thursday, losing 77-61. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of St. Edward's Cody Simmonds, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.
