Basketball Recap: North Warren Regional Takes a Loss

After flying high against Kearny Christian Academy last Friday, North Warren Regional came back down to earth. The North Warren Regional Patriots were dealt a 69-36 defeat at the hands of Central Jersey College Prep on Saturday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Central Jersey College Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Central Jersey College Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Javan Edmunds led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Edmunds a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Carter Staton, who posted 19 points and five steals.

North Warren Regional now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Central Jersey College Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

North Warren Regional will take on Newton at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. As for Central Jersey College Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-56 victory against Paterson Arts & Science on the 30th.
