Recap: Southside Christian Sabres vs. Greenville H Hurricanes

If the Southside Christian Sabres were feeling good off their 58-29 takedown of the First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Crusaders last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southside Christian took a 40-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenville H. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southside Christian has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Southside Christian saw an underclassman step up: Syncere Williams scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Siffri, who scored eight points.

Southside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Greenville H, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Southside Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on GREEN Upstate at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. GREEN Upstate will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Southside Christian is ranked 106th). Greenville H will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Clover at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
