Baseball Recap: Palm Beach Gardens Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Palm Beach Gardens, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let the Atlantic Christian Sharks get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Gators considering their one-run performance the game before.

Lucas Valencia and Ian Vertucci made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Valencia struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Vertucci pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Valencia has posted since back in April of 2024. At bat, Valencia scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Vertucci scored a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Palm Beach Gardens let Chase Turner and Mason Ryder run wild. Turner scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Ryder got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Turner is becoming a predictor of Palm Beach Gardens' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-12 when he doesn't). Tony Bieber was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Palm Beach Gardens kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atlantic Christian only managed three hits.

Palm Beach Gardens' record is now 8-12. As for Atlantic Christian, they moved to 8-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
