On Saturday, Orono faced Marshall in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Orono Spartans had just enough and edged the Marshall Tigers out 59-56. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on four straight.

Orono has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Marshall, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 19-2 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orono has already played their next matchup (against St. Louis Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marshall will venture away from home to challenge Brandon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandon Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Marshall likes a good challenge.
