Soccer Game Preview: Owen vs. Madison

The Owen Warhorses will head out to challenge the Madison Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Owen's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Avery County. Owen haven't had any issues with Avery County recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Rilyn Boueres and Kaylee Allison scored both of Owen's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Meanwhile, Madison waltzed into their game on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Madison, who have now won six matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Madison pushed their record up to 10-4-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven contests. As for Owen, the win got them back to even at 7-7-1.

Owen came up short against Madison in their previous matchup back in April, falling 4-2. Can the Warhorses avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
