Baseball Recap: Falcon Comes Up Short

Falcon fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Ponderosa on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 9-8. The Falcons have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Falcon saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Millikan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Millikan also put up a run, which was his first of the season. Blake Maestes was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Falcon's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Ponderosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Falcon will welcome Windsor at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Falcon will need to watch out since Windsor has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Ponderosa, they will head out to take on Arapahoe at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ponderosa's pitchers better be ready for this one: Arapahoe has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
