Basketball Recap: Keystone Takes a Loss

Keystone lost to Faith Academy back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. The Cobras took a blow against the Flames, falling 80-51. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 937th, while the Flames are ranked 461st).

Despite the loss, Keystone still got an impressive performance from Jack Jude, who went 10-for-22 en route to 31 points and three steals. That was a full 60.8% of the Cobras' points, marking the fifth time in a row Jude has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavi Flores, who put up seven points and seven rebounds.

Keystone has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Faith Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Coincidentally, Keystone and Faith Academy will both be playing San Juan Diego Catholic the next time they take the court. The Cobras will host the Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Flames will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 13th.
