Basketball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

Gateway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Atlantic Sharks 87-50. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Atlantic, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Gateway and New Smyrna Beach will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. As for Atlantic, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tampa Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
