Basketball Recap: Lexington Drops Season-High Score on North Rowan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lexington). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the North Rowan Cavaliers 74-42. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, North Rowan still got an impressive performance from Dasia Elder, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. That was a full 42.9% of North Rowan's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Za'kiya Oglesby-Peck was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Lexington's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.7 points. As for North Rowan, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Rowan, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
