Basketball Recap: Dixie County Comes Up Short

Dixie County lost against Trenton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dixie County Bears were dealt a 62-19 loss at the hands of the Trenton Tigers. The match marked the Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Nyima Gillyard was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards for Trenton. The game was Gillyard's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Koi Perry, who posted six points in addition to nine assists and five rebounds.

Dixie County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Trenton, they pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

While Dixie County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Thursday.
