Volleyball Recap: Pius X Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kami Wemhoff and Whitney Mertens

Pius X lost against Marian last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Thunderbolts took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The Thunderbolts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Pius X's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Whitney Mertens, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Kami Wemhoff, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Pius X's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Marian, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-6.

Pius X didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Lincoln Southeast on the 4th. As for Marian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Elkhorn South on the 4th.
