Basketball Recap: Amphitheater Panthers vs. Walden Grove Red Wolves
The Amphitheater Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with an 87-76 victory over Walden Grove. The win was familiar territory for Amphitheater who now have three in a row.
Amphitheater was led to victory by Eli Travis and Andy Lopez. Travis scored 22 points along with eight assists and five rebounds, while Lopez scored 32 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Santillano, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Amphitheater's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Walden Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.
Amphitheater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Walden Grove will head out on the road to square off against the Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crismon is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
