Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Willard Crimson Flashes
Edison is 1-9 against Willard since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Edison Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Willard Crimson Flashes at 7:15 p.m. Edison is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Edison at home against Western Reserve as the team secured a 49-22 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Booth, who scored eight points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Audrey Linder, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Willard beat Ashland 53-48 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Willard needed coming off of a 67-41 defeat in their prior contest.
Edison's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Willard, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Edison came up short against Willard in their previous meeting back in February, falling 48-36. Can Edison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
