Recap: Richmond Blue Devils vs. Marine City Mariners
The Richmond Blue Devils can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-46 victory over Marine City. Richmond's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Marine City's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danny VandeVyver, who scored 14 points along with three steals, and Liam Adams who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. Adams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Jonathan Hand was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Richmond's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Marine City, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richmond will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Caro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marine City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
