Baseball Recap: Elkhorn Triumphs

Elkhorn lost to Columbus back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Antlers walked away with a 5-1 win over the Discoverers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Antlers.

Elkhorn got a great performance from Camden Gatling as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Gatling has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caiden Severson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Camden Carle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Elkhorn's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Columbus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Elkhorn will take on rival Mount Michael Benedictine at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Columbus is set to face off against their familiar foe Fremont at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
