Recap: Foxcroft Academy Ponies vs. Ellsworth Eagles
The Foxcroft Academy Ponies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Ellsworth 62-30. While losing is never fun, Foxcroft Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Ellsworth is ranked first).
Foxcroft Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Allie Smith, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds, and Addison Conklin who scored three points.
Foxcroft Academy bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Ellsworth, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Foxcroft Academy will head out on the road to square off against Caribou at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Caribou is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Ellsworth, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Old Town at 7:00 p.m. Old Town is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
