The Victor Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Haverling Rams at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Victor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Victor had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Irondequoit on Friday. The Blue Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles an 18-0 shutout. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Ellie Renkie was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Victor got a massive performance out of Kenadee Comstock, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Comstock a new career-high. Ryleigh Fontana was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Victor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Irondequoit only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Haverling entered their tilt with Wayland-Cohocton on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Eagles.
Like Victor, Haverling also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaili Witherell. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Witherell was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Ryleigh Laverty was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abigail Whaley, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Haverling pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Victor, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-7.
Both Victor and Haverling just can't seem to miss. The Blue Devils have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Haverling struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
