Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Eastside scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Thursday. They claimed a resounding 57-22 win over Palatka at home. With Eastside ahead 37-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Winthrop College Prep Academy blew past Varsity Opponent, posting a 59-9 win at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Winthrop College Prep Academy.
Winthrop College Prep Academy relied on the efforts of JoLesa Birkhead, who scored 24 points along with four steals, and Zamyria King, who scored 20 points along with nine steals. The matchup was Birkhead's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramya Atienza, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
Eastside's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.
