Football Game Preview: Angleton Wildcats vs. Friendswood Mustangs + Official Tickets

Angleton is a perfect 6-0 against Friendswood since November of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Angleton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Friendswood likes a good challenge.

Angleton's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Pasadena 68-0. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Bryce Duron had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 48 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 97 yards and two touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing. What's more, he racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Jeremiah Reid was another key player, rushing for 67 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Angleton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 348 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ace Simple, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Friendswood came up short against Crosby on Friday and fell 39-30. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Angleton pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Friendswood, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything went Angleton's way against Friendswood in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Angleton made off with a 31-7 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
