The LaVille Lancers will head out to square off against the New Prairie Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Prairie took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on LaVille, who comes in off a win.
LaVille can't be too worried about heading out to take on New Prairie: they just beat Culver Academies at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. LaVille walked away with a 48-35 victory over Culver Academies last Friday.

Brooke Edison was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 34 times she's played. Mackena Deason was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 15 points.
Meanwhile, New Prairie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Knox. One positive for the Cougars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
LaVille will have to contain Nevaeh Trobaugh as she made an impact in New Prairie's last game. She went 6 of 8 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Trobaugh a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Deutscher, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals.
Even though they lost, New Prairie was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
LaVille has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.1 points per game. As for New Prairie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: LaVille has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28 boards per game. However, it's not like New Prairie struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
LaVille was taken down by New Prairie 60-24 when the teams last played back in January. Can LaVille avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
