Basketball Recap: Southwest Christian Comes Up Short

If Southwest Christian was riding high fresh off their 94-58 takedown of Dassel-Cokato last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Southwest Christian Stars took an 81-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Champlin Park Rebels on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Stars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Rebels are ranked 30th).

Southwest Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Champlin Park, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Southwest Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-57 victory against Watertown-Mayer on the 18th. As for Champlin Park, they will host Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rogers' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests.
